The Spiritual Life of the Artist

Your spiritual life should be first among your considerations. Before you are an artist, you are a human being. And before you are a human being, you are a conduit of spirit. Give yourself time each day to connect with that part of your being. Through meditation, prayer, reading scripture, whatever gets you connected to the Source of all that is, realize that it is that connection which will empower you to create your art, create your life, and create your prosperity. Whatever energy congealed the original canvas of your body is the same source of your creativity and each breath you take in this journey you regard as life. Do not diminish its importance as guidance on your way. For unless you connect with that Source of inspiration, it will be much more difficult to manifest the art and life you are seeking.
